Solvay 71

Solvay 71, registration NY3053F, was built at Villeneuve la Garenne in 1930 with a Deutz 25 hp engine.  All information on this page was taken from Vagus-Vagrant.fr unless otherwise specified.

Solvay 71 was purchased by Sablières Modernes and became a barge under the name Claire.  The boat has since been scrapped.

In 1965, Solvay 71, while underway, broke down at Donchery (08), at the entrance to the channel, with a swell. After pumping all night, assisted by Joseph Dutremez of Solvay 47, Gaston Debuy reached Givet (08), where his cargo was transferred to Solvay 81 piloted by René Parent.  Here she is in Givet:
