A barge called Ay, registration NY2310F, was built in 1898 in Herbières, Belgium
and bought by Solvay in 1920. Solvay sold her in 1932 to Van Nolen
(information appearing in the book "La flotte Solvay - Les nez
rouges", by Sylviane PARENT - April 2015).
Solvay 205 on April 26 1931 at Jarville to the south of Nancy on the Marne-Rhine canal. This charming lady is Mathilde PARENT, wife of Feneuil, sister of Oscar PARENT of the barge AZY, grandfather of Norbert (Sylviane PARENT’s husband) who had also sold his barge in 1920 to Solvay, which became the 207, then resold by Solvay in 1931.
