Solvay 109

Solvay 109, registration NY3110F, was built in 1932 at Choisy-le-Roi with a 30 hp Deutz engine.  Other than where indicated the contents of this page are taken from Vagus-Vagrant.fr.

When Solvay sold her to Sablieres Modernes she was renamed Creaton but has since been scrapped.

View from the front, waiting at the bottom of the Arzviller inclined plane. This photo is more recent than the two that follow, because we can see that the boat has already been modernized: galley (kitchen and toilets) at the front of the wheelhouse, etc.:

Here she is at Creil on the Oise:

An undated photo with no location:

Solvay 109 sank in the port of Antwerp on October 17, 1966, after being struck by a ship in the middle of a shipwreck. Here is a photo of the salvage operation and the wreck after the accident:

During the 1968 strikes at Châlons-en-Champagne (or Châlons-sur-Marne as it was then). Solvay 109 in the centre of the line of five abreast. We've used those bollards to moor - they're just below the town lock
